Shots Fired in New Bedford

Shots were fired on the zero block of Thompson Street in New Bedford, just off of County Street, around 1230 this afternoon.

Witnesses say at least three males were seen running from the scene toward County Street.

Three bullet holes were clearly visible in a home at 25 Thompson Street, with two bullets penetrating some first-floor windows. Gunfire also hit the side of a house at 191 County Street, and another home at 30 Thompson Street.

There appear to be no injuries at this time. Detectives and K-9 units are on the scene investigating and searching for the gunmen.

Police report that two New Bedford males, ages 15 and 16, are in custody, and a firearm has been recovered.
