Shots Fired at Fall River Police Officer
FALL RIVER — Fall River Police are searching for a man who shot at officers this morning.
At approximately 3 a.m., uniform division plain clothes officers were in an unmarked vehicle in the Laurel Street area when they observed a glass bottle being tossed from the driver side window of a passing vehicle. The officers followed the vehicle to the Crawford and Kay Street area, when the suspect vehicle pulled off to the side of the road. The officers then drove past and made a u-turn and began returning towards the vehicle.
As they approached, two males exited the suspect vehicle and began walking towards the approaching officer's vehicle. The officers were able to see a firearm in one male's hand, and they believed the other male was concealing a firearm in his waistband. The officers identified themselves, and ordered the males to stop. The two males then ran away from the officers and the officers gave chase. During this short foot pursuit, one male suspect fired one round at the officers. Neither officer was injured.
Arrested were Elijah Jones, 21, of Brockton, and Crystal Rebello, 23, of Fall River, on multiple weapons charges. The investigation is still ongoing, and police are looking for a third suspect, a Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately six feet tall and weighing 190 pounds.
