
Shotgun, Ammunition Found In New Bedford Home
New Bedford Police arrested a man after a search warrant was executed at his West End home.
Members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau arrested 37-year-old Joey Correia as he left his home at 96 Chestnut St. Thursday evening.
Once inside the home, police found a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun in a bedroom closet. Correia does not have a license to carry firearms, and the weapon was reported stolen out of Fall River in May of this year.
Detectives also found 19 rounds of 12-gauge shotgun shells, 10 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition, as well as a 13-round magazine for a .40 caliber firearm.
Correia has been arraigned on charges of unlawful possession of a shotgun, ammunition, and a large capacity feeding device in addition to receiving stolen property exceeding $250.
