The Schwartz Center for Children's 25th annual walk yesterday drew a record 1,400 participants walking the 3.5 mile loop around Fort Taber raising $100,490.

This year's top fundraising group was"Team Noah", with $7,851; the highest individual donor was Stephen Sedgwick, who raised $4,360; The highest staff team was "Trekking For Tots", with $7,455; and the staff member who raised the most money was Melissa Lewis, with $3,100.

Beatriz Oliveira, Development and Marketing manager, said the walk is all the more important in tough economic times to provide services to the most vulnerable of children and was grateful that so many showed up.
