School Cafeteria Cook Threatens to Bring in AK-47
A cook at a Massachusetts school who allegedly threatened to shoot co-workers in a dispute over cookies has pleaded not guilty.
Wendy Ferris of Cumberland, Rhode Island was released on $5,000 bail after pleading not guilty Monday to threatening to commit a crime.
Prosecutors say the 46 year old Ferris, the head cook at King Phillip Regional Middle School in Norfolk, told co-workers Friday she would bring an AK-47 to school and shoot the place up because she was angry another worker had to remake a batch of over baked cookies.
Authorities say Ferris claimed to have a "hit list."
Police say Ferris has a firearms license and owns a 9 mm handgun. It has been confiscated.
Her husband says she's a "good person" and her lawyer says she denies the charge.
