Former state lab chemist Annie Dookhan has been arrested. She's accused of faking drug test results that has left the outcome of thousands of criminal drug cases in question. Investigators say she handled tens-of-thousands of drug samples and she allegedly confessed to faking tests for two or three years. Dookhan's alleged misconduct prompted the closing of the lab.

The 34-year-old was taken into custody around noon at her home in Franklin. Attorney General Martha Coakley is expected to meet with reporters soon to discuss the situation. (MetroSource)
