NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police officers targeting street level drug sales arrest a Rochester man.

Police say officers were cracking down on drug sales in New Bedford's north end on Wednesday when they observed a man acting suspiciously in the area of Ashley Blvd. and Irvington St. at around 1:43 p.m.

Police approached the man who attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. A search of the man revealed he was in possession of a small amount of fentanyl, cocaine, and morphine.

He also was in possession of a knife longer than 2.5 inches.

Police arrested the man, Mark McCra, 29, of Rochester.

McCra faces three charges of possession of a Class B drug and once charge of carrying of certain weapons or instruments on a person.
