Riverbank Lofts at 200 Riverside Ave is now officially open.

Mayor Jon Mitchell, Councilor Steve Martins, Senator Mark Montigny, and former Mayor Scott Lang joined Acorn Management to cut the ceremonial ribbon.

Acorn Vice President Quentin Ricciardi reflected on his late father Steve who started the project.......

There was much praise for Steve Ricciardi who passed away in November of 2012 during the early stages of construction. Acorn Management invested about $20-million in the project, and created about 150 construction jobs.

The Riverbank Lofts joins Riverside Landing and Wamsutta Place as projects where 100-year old vacant mills in New Bedford were converted in recent years into modern apartment complexes.

An open house at Riverbank Lofts is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
