Rhode Island Man Arrested on Third OUI in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD - A Rhode Island man was arrested in New Bedford early Monday morning on his third OUI offense.

New Bedford Police say Walter Nencka, 46, of Warren, Rhode Island, was found sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle in the 200 block of Union Street at 2:10 a.m. Monday morning. The vehicle was idling.

Police determined Nencka was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, third offense.

Nencka was previously convicted of OUI liquor in 1994 in Massachusetts and in 2008 in Rhode Island.
