"The Washington Post" is reporting that the Justice Department does not have a strong enough case to bring civil rights charges against Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson.

Wilson is the white officer who shot and killed unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown, in Ferguson on August 9th.  The shooting triggered massive protests and calls for justice in the St. Louis suburb.

Attorney General Eric Holder assured protesters that the federal government would open a civil rights investigation. However, sources say that a civil rights case must show the defendant "willfully" deprived the victim of his rights, and that there is not enough evidence to show that Wilson acted "willfully."

Michael Brown was shot nine times, including three times in the head. (Metro Networks Inc)
