Report: Intruders, Possibly Armed With Sword, Break Into New Bedford Home

New Bedford Police say a man armed with a large knife or a sword and a woman broke into a Blackmer Street home early Friday morning.

Police received a report of the home invasion around 4:30am Friday from the 200 block of Blackmer Street, with residents saying the intruders kicked in the front door. When one of the residents yelled in surprise, the suspects fled west on Blackmer Street and north onto County Street.

A search of the immediate area turned up nothing. Nobody was injured.

Police are investigating the reported home invasion.
