KG Urban's application to build a waterfront casino in New Bedford continues to move along.

During the Thursday morning meeting of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, Rick Day, the Commission's Executive Director, said that KG Urban has submitted all the documentation requested by the commission.

"In summary the applicant, KG Urban, is in substantial compliance with the requested documentation by IEB," said Day.

Day says that this means there will be no issues with holding a suitability hearing on September 24th.

Following that announcement the Commission's Ombudsman, John Ziemba says that if all goes according to plan a license could be awarded by the beginning of next year.

"We estimate that with no Surrounding Community or Impacted Live Entertainment Venue arbitrations we could potentially award a Region C License by late January," said Ziemba.

However, Ziemba says that if such arbitration were to take plac,e the date would then be pushed back to sometime in March of 2016.
