Red Sox Lose But Can Clinch Tonight- WBSM Thursday Sports (AUDIO)

The Red Sox lost to Baltimore last night 5-3 in 12 innings. Boston's Magic Number did drop to 1 thanks to Cleveland losing. The Sox and Orioles meet for the final time this regular season tonight. John Lackey gets the start. WBSM pregame time is 6:25pm.

The Patriots will have to contend with Tampa safety Dashon Goldson after all this weekend. He had his one-game suspension reduced to a $100,000 fine following an appeal. Goldson was penalized for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Saint's running back Darren Sproles.

The Bruins play their preseason home opener tonight as they host the Detroit Red Wings.

VOLLEYBALL: Voc Tech beat Case 3-1, Dartmouth over Durfee 3-0, Fairhaven beat Seekonk 3-1, Bourne shut out Wareham 3-0 and Bishop Stang beat Apponequet 3-1.

BOYS SOCCER: Voc Tech beat Case 6-0. Josh Edwards scored two goals.

GIRLS SOCCER: Bishop Connolly/Westport beat Holbrook 3-2, Case over Voc Tech 3-2, Upper Cape beat Old Colony 2-1 and Bourne beat Wareham 6-3.

FIELD HOCKEY: Apponequet shut out Bourne 7-0, Case over Wareham 3-0, ORR beat Seekonk 3-0 and Fairhaven and Dighton-Rehoboth tied at 0-0.
