Marissa Perez-Dormitzer knows a lot about recycling.

She is the Waste Reduction Manager for the Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District, made up of the City of New Bedford and the Town of Dartmouth.

Perez-Dormitzer is in charge of two special events coming up in October: Paper Shred Day on October 3 at New Bedford High School, and Household Hazardous Waste Day on October 24 at the Crapo Hill Landfill.

Perez-Dormitzer visited Townsquare Sunday this week and shared full details about those events, including some changes this year because of COVID-19. She also passed on some recycling tips that you may not know.

Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program highlighting individuals and organizations working to improve the quality of life here in Greater New Bedford. The program is heard every Sunday morning at 6 on 1420 WBSM.

If you would like to share the work your organization is doing, e-mail the host at jim.phillips@townsquaremedia.com.
