The sound of racing powerboats will be heard in Fall River in mid-August.

The Offshore Powerboat Association has announced that the Fall River Grand Prix will take place the weekend of August 14 through August 16.

Boats will begin arriving Friday at the Borden Light Marina where inspections will also take place and the evening will be topped off with the Racers Meet & Greet at the Tipsy Toboggan at 7 p.m.

Registration and boat testing will take place on Saturday as the Race Village opens to the public.

The day will end with another Racers Meet & Greet at the Tipsy Seagull Dockside Pub at 7 p.m.

Races will take place on Sunday with the first race scheduled to take place at 12 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. race, and a third race at 4 p.m. if neccesary.

Viewing areas will include lower Kennedy Park, the Boardwalk, and Battleship Cove.

The Fall River Grand Prix will conclude with a 7 p.m. Awards Ceremony.
