Power has been restored along sections of Route 6 in Fairhaven after an accident involving a truck and some downed power lines caused an outage Tuesday afternoon.

Police Sgt. Kevin Kobza says that aan 18-wheeler truck was pulling out of the Brahmin Leather Works at 77 Alden Rd. around 2:45 p.m. when the cab of the truck caught some low-hanging power lines.

The power outage impacted Route 6 especially the area between Bridge St. and Alden Rd.

Kobza says power has been restored and traffic lights are now working and all roads have been reopened.

However, some residents may still be experiencing problems with their phone service.

Verizon has been called to the scene.

No injuries were reported.
