I had a fascinating interview with New Bedford mayoral candidate Richard Tyson Moultrie on my radio program. He showed up to the station and demanded he be allowed on the air. I obliged him.

I don't normally allow someone to come on the air when they just show up at the studio, but I'm glad I made the exception today. You can hear the entire commercial-free interview here:

My normal Friday guest, Attorney Marcus Ferro, was in the studio and I included him in the interview with Moultrie because we had been discussing the local election and I knew Marcus had as many questions as I did for the candidate.

Moultrie made some incredible charges and refused to answer some basic questions about his military career. He branded Mayor Mitchell "corrupt." He called two former mayors, Scott Lang and Fred Kalisz, liars. He promised to make public a witness to the cronyism and corruption of the Mitchell Administration, along with supporting documentation, on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at a pop-up press conference streaming on Facebook.

During one of the commercial breaks, he erupted into an obscenity-laced tirade in the studio that was partially captured by the microphone and overheard by more than half a dozen men and women who work at the station. It was also witnessed by some of the children who intern at the radio station during the week as part of their education.

He did make some valid points and confirmed that he is a property owner in the city of New Bedford. He was also nice enough to bring me one of his campaign signs. At the end of the hour, we all shook hands and I'm looking forward to interviewing him again in the future – when I have time to prepare for the occasion.
