Police: New Bedford Man Murdered at Maine McDonald’s, Suspect Arrested
A New Bedford man is dead after an altercation in the parking lot of a McDonald's in Maine and a local man is charged with murder.
Lewiston resident Trai M. LaRue, 22, was arrested this morning and charged in the death of Roger I. Cornell, 21, of New Bedford, according to the Lewiston Sun-Journal.
At about 8:37 p.m. Wednesday night, police responded to the restaurant at 18 Center Street in Auburn. They say a man, later identified as Cornell, was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Authorities alleged that Cornell and Larue were involved in an altercation and say that several people fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.
Lewiston Police located and arrested Larue early Thursday morning. Larue was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail. Cornell's body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy. Maine's Major Crimes South police detective unit was called to assist local police in their investigation.
