Police: New Bedford Man Likely Overdose Victim

Police say the cause of death of a New Bedford man over the weekend appears to be a drug overdose.

Police say the body was found Saturday near Holy Family-Holy Name School.

Det. Captain Steve Vicente tells WBSM News, investigators are still awaiting toxicology tests, but it appears the victim overdosed on drugs.  Vicente says needles and a syringe were found nearby.

The victim's name has not been released.
