Police: Man Claims He was Punched, Robbed in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD - Police are investigating after a man said he was punched and robbed in the city's West End on Sunday.

New Bedford Police say they received a report of an unarmed robbery in the 20-block of Summer Street at around 2:44 a.m. on Sunday. The victim told police that a man had struck him with a closed fist and stole his wallet.

The victim was transported to St. Luke's Hospital with minor injuries.

The reported unarmed robbery is under investigation.
