Police Arrest New Bedford Drug Suspect

Officers from the Fairhaven Police Department, the Southcoast Anti-Crime Task Force and New Bedford Detectives combine to arrest a drug suspect this week in the Whaling City.

According to Fairhaven Police Sgt. Kevin Kobza, 32-year old Henry Catanho was arrested Wednesday in New Bedford, a short time after completing a drug transaction near his apartment at 2785 Acushnet Avenue.

Police carried out a search warrant in the apartment, seizing drug packaging material, a digital scale, some heroin and $2,000 in cash.

Sgt. Kobza says Catanho already has several open drug cases and was out on $10,000 bail when he was taken into custody.
