The New England Patriots added wide receiver Bernard Reedy to their practice squad, Wednesday.

Reedy, who played in nine games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season, was cut by the team on November 17. The wide out had recorded two catches for 21 yards on the season, along with three rushes for 17 yards.

With New England's lack of depth at the receiver position, Reedy will likely add another practice body to keep the few healthy receivers on the roster preserved for games.

To make space for Reedy to join the practice squad, the team released defensive lineman mike Purcell. The veteran lineman had multiple stops in New England this season and could be added back to the practice squad before the campaign is over, if depth at the position continues to stay thin.
