Patriots Playoff Preview: New England Has the Edge In Super Bowl LX
The New England Patriots are looking to lay the first brick for their next dynasty Sunday night, and Fun 107 Patriots correspondent Nick Coit believes the recipe is simple as Super Bowl LX approaches.
It starts with the quarterback, it continues with a defense that is finally healthy, and it ends with an underdog mentality that has powered the team through the postseason.
Coit joined The MGM Show Friday morning and said the Patriots' rise has been defined by second-year quarterback Drake Maye, who nearly captured NFL MVP honors, finishing one vote shy in what Coit called a "frustratingly close" result. Still, Coit said Maye and the Patriots are focused on a much bigger prize on Sunday.
Why Drake Maye Is the Difference
Coit said Maye is the main reason the Patriots are playing on Super Bowl Sunday. He credited Coach Mike Vrabel and offensive leader Josh McDaniels for resetting the culture, but said the league still runs through elite quarterback play, and Maye has delivered at the right time.

How the Patriots Can Beat Seattle
On paper, Coit said the Seattle Seahawks look like a complete team, but he highlighted a few areas that favor New England. He pointed to a strong postseason run game led by Rhamondre Stevenson and a defense that has been lights out since getting key players back. Coit said the Patriots know they are being overlooked, especially with so much attention on Seattle’s defense, and that chip on the shoulder can be valuable.
He also noted the matchup factor at quarterback. If New England can generate pressure up front, Coit believes it can disrupt Sam Darnold and force mistakes.
What Nick Coit Predicts For Super Bowl LX
Coit has covered four Super Bowls and described the weeklong buildup as a spectacle where sports and entertainment collide. When it came time to make a pick, he kept it tight.
Coit predicted a 23-20 Patriots win and the beginning of a new dynasty in Foxboro.
