The New England Patriots secured a first round bye in the AFC playoffs with their 28-0 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Patriot fans couldn't have asked for a better way to end the regular season -  and a better omen for the playoffs. New England held the Dolphins scoreless, despite not scoring at all in the third quarter.

Tom Brady threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns. He connected with Wes Welker 8 times for 94 yards and a score. Rob Gronkowski was back for the first time in weeks after recovering from a broken forearm. He had a touchdown as well. Stevan Ridley rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown.
