A veteran Patriots offensive lineman is calling it a career.

Dan Connolly tells ESPN.com that he's leaving the game after seven seasons in New England.

After suffering several concussions, Connolly says maintaining his health is the most important reason for retiring.

He joined the Patriots in 2007 after the Jacksonville Jaguars brought him into the league as an undrafted free agent in 2005.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
