The New England Patriots announced the signing of defensive back E.J. Biggers, today. Media reports have also said the team has agreed to a deal with tight end Clay Harbor, as well.

The addition of Biggers adds another veteran to the team's secondary, which was better than originally expected last season.

The 28-year-old is a entering his seventh season in the league this year, after being drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Biggers spent the first three years of his career in Tampa, then spent two years with the Washington Redskins. Last season, the Western Michigan product played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 92 career games, Biggers has recorded 279 tackles and four interceptions. He has also been credited with 41 passes defensed.

As for Harbor, ESPN's Adam Caplan announced that the team and the 28-year-old tight end had agreed to a contract this evening.

Harbor entered the league in 2010, after being selected in the fourth round of the draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

After three seasons in Philly, Harbor spent the last three years in Jacksonville, playing for the Jaguars.

In 83 games with both the Eagles and Jags, Harbor has caught 111 of 164 passes intended for him for 1,151 yards and eight touchdowns.

The six year vet will join a tight end corps that was recently upgraded via a trade with the Chicago Bears that brought Martellus Bennett to town. Along with Bennett, Harbor will be joining All-Pro Rob Gronkowski and converted offensive tackle Michael Williams.
