Two Parents Steal From Middleborough School PTA — What Should Happen to Them?
Over the past 4 years, two Middleborough, MA parents have been stealing the funds raised through cookie sales and school events.
In all, over $30,000 was embezzled, according to Superintendent Roseli Weiss, who shared the sad news this past Monday evening in front of 130 shocked parents. Police served papers for the two to appear in Wareham District Court on May 21. No names were made public yet.
The problem of missing funds started back in January 2013 when the PTA was about to be split into two separate groups serving two schools. The numbers weren't adding up. The school officials called in police to investigate.
It's my opinion that stealing money that school kids raised is a sewage-level crime! I'll keep you posted on this case, rest assured!
