Over 100 Rounds of Ammo Found in New Bedford Apartment
NEW BEDFORD - A New Bedford man is arrested after police find over 100 rounds of ammunition stored in a nearby home.
Officers with New Bedford's Gang Unit executed a search warrant at an apartment at 50 Deane Street at around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The search warrant was issued after police received information that the target of the search, Kelvin Ervin, 32, may unlawfully be in possession of a firearm.
Inside the home, police found 101 rounds of ammunition, as well as two replica handguns.
Police arrested Ervin, who resides next door at 48 Deane Street. Ervin is charged with unlawful possession of ammunition.
Police say Ervin does not have a federal identification card or a license to carry.
