Get ready for a major increase come January on your electric bill.

NSTAR has announced that because of a dramatic increase in the price of electricity that it buys, its customers will be paying more....

Spokesman Mike Durand says the rate increase will take effect January 1st and must still be approved by the Dept. of Public Utilities.

Durand says the average customer's bill would see an increase of about $28 a month. This caller to WBSM on Friday said the increase was too much....

By law, the rate schedule must be reviewed again before July 1st.
