For over a decade, the Newport Kite Festival has been a staple in the state, creating a community for kite fliers alike.
"Our mission is to foster a sense of community, inspire creativity, and create lasting memories for attendees of all ages," the website states.
Today, the tradition continues even more so that the public can join in on the fun and experience the artistry of kite flying for themselves.
Whether you're a kite enthusiast or just seeking out a fun summer activity, this event is something to experience. Vendors and food trucks will also be at the festival, along with various activities for all ages.
There is nothing like witnessing the sky filled with kites of different colors, designs and shapes soaring high in the air.
Although the event is free, donations are welcomed to support the festival. Donations will go towards permits, equipment and promotions to help ensure a worthwhile experience for everyone.
It's never too early to mark your calendars so you can attend this year's Newport Kite Festival.
