New Year Babies Born In New Bedford And Fall River

The first New Year's Baby on the Southcoast was born at 1:54am at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River to Cindy and Joseph Stephens of Berkley.  Evan Stephens, a baby girl, weighed in at 7 lbs and 4 ounces and was almost 20 inches long.  Its the couple's fourth child.

At St. Lukes Hospital in New Bedford, the first baby of 2014 was born at 8:37am.  Yelitza Rivera and Ian Aresta of New Bedford gave birth to a baby boy.  Dominic Aresta weighed seven lbs. and one ounce, and was 20 and a half inches long.  Its the couple's second child.

The first babies will receive gift baskets filled with toys and clothing, donated by the hospital's auxillary organizations.
