New Beige Expands With Seastreak Ferry Pop-Up and Union Java Partnership
As New Beige restaurant raises its glasses to a successful first year in business in downtown New Bedford, it’s now looking to introduce its popular menu and brand to a fresh crowd, many of whom may have never heard of this Union Street hotspot.
New Beige Will Launch a Grab-and-Go Location at Seastreak Terminal
Ownership confirmed to Fun 107 that it will soon open a satellite location in New Bedford, serving passengers of the Seastreak Fast Ferry. Tourists will be able to purchase many of New Beige’s most portable and popular menu items.
What Will Be on the Menu at the Ferry Location?
Owner Howie Mallowes gave us the scoop:
“It’s going to be grab-and-go food that’s prepared at the main restaurant. Things like our empanadas and meat skewers, but also some of our cookies and brownies. We’ll probably sell GrandMa’s Donuts on the weekends. We’ll have beverages, salads, and sandwiches, too.”
Mallowes said the agreement with Seastreak covers the entire 2025 season, and he’s eager to get the new space up and running as soon as possible. New Beige is currently waiting on equipment that is expected to arrive later next week. If all goes as planned, the satellite location could be ready by Memorial Day weekend.
“A lot of people come off the Seastreak and don’t know where to go. We’re hoping they love what they eat at New Beige at Seastreak and then come to our main location for dinner and drinks.” — Howie Mallowes
New Beige Also Partners With Union Java for Coffee Offerings
In other New Beige news, the restaurant has brokered a partnership with Union Java thanks to Amanda Baptiste, Mallowes' significant other. This means guests can now enjoy Union Java’s popular coffee beverages at both the Union Street and Seastreak locations.
