NEW BEDFORD — A woman with a heavenly-sounding name has been arrested for less-than angelic behavior.

New Bedford Police say officers responded to the area of McGurk and Ruth Streets in the South End at 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday for a report of a crowd that had gathered. Upon arrival, police began to disperse the crowd, but one woman refused to leave and began arguing with another person.

After several requests from police to leave, the woman continued to yell and was eventually placed under arrest.

Police have charged the woman, Angel C. Goode, 42, of 79 Bedford Street, Apt. 2, New Bedford, with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
