New Bedford Woman Dies from Injuries in Taunton Crash
TAUNTON — A New Bedford woman has died of her injuries received in a single-car crash in Taunton on Wednesday.
Massachusetts State Police say Breanne Cabral, 27, of New Bedford, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.
Police say at about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Troopers from the State Police Middleboro Barracks, along with members of the Taunton Fire Department, responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 140 southbound just before Exit 10 in Taunton. At the scene, emergency responders found the vehicle down an embankment off the side of the road.
Police were initially able to speak with Cabral. However, her condition worsened at the scene. A MedFlight was requested to transport Cabral to Rhode Island Hospital where she died Thursday.
A 27-year-old female passenger in Cabral's vehicle was uninjured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit.
