New Bedford Woman Arrested for Shoplifting, Resisting Arrest

NEW BEDFORD — Chaimary Feliciano, 22, 987 Belleville Ave., New Bedford, was arrested Monday on charges of shoplifting, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace and a warrant arrest.

Police responded to Family Dollar on 771 Purchase St. on a report that Feliciano stole items from the store.

Feliciano fled the store and headed south to the 500-block of Purchase Street, where she was apprehended. When she was apprehended, she resisted arrest and struck an officer with a bottle as he attempted to arrest her. The officer was not injured.

Feliciano was also found to have an outstanding warrant.

The incident was reported at 8:31 p.m.
