New Bedford Woman Arrested for A&B on a Police Officer
A New Bedford woman was arrested Monday night and charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer, and malicious damage to an automobile.
At around 10:17 p.m., New Bedford police responded to a unit at The Willows, an apartment complex at 50 New Plainville Rd. A police officer was conversing with the woman about a prior incident when she "became upset and lunged at the officer," according to police department spokesman Lt. Nathaniel Rodriguez.
Kelly Hayden, 37, was subsequently restrained and placed under arrest. Police say that while in the cruiser, Hayden kicked the window and the window frame, causing some damage to the vehicle.
The New Bedford Police Department did not say if Hayden has been arraigned in New Bedford District Court.
