New Bedford Woman Arrested Following Motor Vehicle Accident

NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford woman was arrested Sunday afternoon following a motor vehicle accident in the city.

New Bedford Police responded to the accident at 371 Park Street just before 1 p.m.

As police responded, one of the participants in the accident allegedly began to yell obscenities at police on scene.

After several attempts to calm the individual down, police attempted to place 29-year-old Cynthia Lynn Cabral under arrest.

While placing Cabral into custody, Cabral allegedly kicked the officers in an attempt to resist arrest. No officers were injured as a result.

Cabral is charged with Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and A+B on a Police Officer.
