New Bedford Woman Allegedly Robbed by Group of Men with Stun Gun
A New Bedford woman says she was robbed by a group of young men she believes were armed with a stun gun early Friday morning.
The 32-year-old woman told police she was walking home from the 7-Eleven on Cove Road around 12:15 A.M. Friday when a group of five to seven young black men began following her from the store.
The woman says the men surrounded her on Social Street, and she heard one of the men spark a stun gun. The woman began yelling for help before dropping her purse and running to her nearby home and calling police. She was not injured.
The men took the purse, which contained cash, credit cards, and several forms of identification.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the convenience store.
