New Bedford West End Standoff Ends With Suspect Surrendering

New Bedford Police responded to an apartment building at Durfee and Vine Streets in the West End on a report of a man threatening to shoot himself.  

According to WBSM's Taylor Cormier, the standoff ended just before 2pm, with the man surrenedering to police.

No shots were fired.  At least eight cruisers responded to the scene, and officers had their weapons drawn, pointing towards the building.
