NEW BEDFORD — As part of the search for the next Superintendent of New Bedford Public Schools, the Screening Committee seeks input from students, staff, families, and residents through community meetings, focus groups, and a survey.

Representatives of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), the executive search firm selected to assist in the search, will conduct focus groups with students, staff, and families at schools, and host public community meetings open to all members of the community, including families, students, staff, and residents.

HYA completes a community profile as part of its search to assist the Screening Committee and School Committee “in determining the primary characteristics desired in the new superintendent,” according to HYA.

COMMUNITY MEETINGS:

The public meetings will be held at the district’s three middle schools:

Monday, February 5 at 6:00 p.m. – Normandin Middle School (Cafeteria), 81 Felton St.

Tuesday, February 6 at 6:00 p.m. – Keith Middle School (Community Room), 225 Hathaway Blvd.

Wednesday, February 7 at 5:00 p.m. – Roosevelt Middle School (Community Room), 119 Frederick St.

TO TAKE THE SURVEY:

In addition, community input is sought through a survey for families, staff, students, and residents. Links to the survey will be available in English, Spanish and Portuguese through Monday, February 12 at HYA’s website: www.ecrasurvey.com/newbedfordma.

TO SUBMIT FEEDBACK BY EMAIL:

In addition to the community meetings open to the public and the surveys available online, feedback is welcome by email at SuperintendentSearch@newbedford-ma.gov through Monday, February 12.
