NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police say that detectives are actively investigating several incidents that took place on Saturday, including a stabbing and a ShotSpotter activation.

According to a post on the NBPD Facebook page, early Saturday morning, officers responded to a call of a woman being assaulted near Shaw Street and Acushnet Avenue. Police say she suffered minor lacerations.

Then shortly after noon on Saturday, police say a stabbing victim arrived at St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. They say the victim was uncooperative with officers attempting to investigate.

Finally, there was a ShotSpotter activation at 11 p.m. Saturday night near 153 Acushnet Avenue. According to police, there were no victims reported.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact New Bedford Police by leaving an anonymous tip on their voicemail at (508) 991-6300 ext. 1.
