Society Coffee Bar has taken the SouthCoast by storm with its locations in Taunton and Somerset, and now New Bedford will be the home of the next location of this very popular coffee shop.

For months now, we know that Killburn Mill in the city's South End had a pretty big vacancy it has been trying to fill following the closing of Dough Company. We are excited to confirm that Society Coffee Bar will be opening up another location inside the Killburn Mill, filling the former café space.

Society Coffee Bar Facebook page made the announcement this morning that the new location will be opening soon.

Since the space was built for a café style business, much of the foundation work is done and if all goes as planned, the new location should open by mid-summer.

While the New Bedford location won't have the benefit of a drive-thru such as the one at the Somerset location, it will have the luxury of many built-in patrons that work within the mill's many shops and workspaces and it will serve a whole new part of the SouthCoast.

It’s also worth noting that a few other local businesses will be expanding nearby (more on that later) and that will set the stage for some exciting developments on West Rodney French Boulevard.

It’s been a long time coming but I think we can all agree, this is an exciting addition to the Killburn Mill and to the South End of New Bedford.

Now to decide what ice coffee I want; Society's new “Churro Quinny” looks indulgent and so delicious.

Also, does this mean Matt Rife is coming to the Whaling City?
