New Bedford Police are investigating an incident of shots fired Wednesday evening in the city's South End.

According to a post on the department’s official Facebook page, officers in the South End responded to a call for shots fired on South Second Street near Nelson Street.

Police said that a firearm was recovered at the scene, and that one person is in custody.

They reported that no one was injured in the incident, which remains under investigation.
