New Bedford Police Investigating Shots Fired Near Playground

NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police are investigating an incidents of shots fired Saturday night near a playground.

According to a post on the New Bedford Police Department Facebook page, patrol units responded at about 9:15 p.m. on June 12 for a report of shots fired in the area of Russell Street and Acushnet Avenue.

Police say it was confirmed that shots were fired in the area of Monte’s Playground.

They say no victim has been discovered and the investigation remains active. No further information was provided.
