New Bedford Shooting Suspect Arrested in Puerto Rico
New Bedford Police say a man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting in the city has been arrested in Puerto Rico.
21-year-old Noel Pizarro Carrion was nabbed on Monday, June 9, in Puerto Rico after fleeing New Bedford. An arrest warrant had been obtained by New Bedford Police for Carrion for his involvement in a drive-by shooting on April 21 in the area of Cottage and Robeson Streets. Two men were injured in the shooting.
Details of Carrion's capture were not immediately available. He is awaiting rendition to Massachusetts at a yet to be determined date.
He faces the following charges:
Assault with intent to murder (2 counts), Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (2 counts), Unlawfully carrying a firearm, Unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, Discharging a firearm within 500 ft. of a dwelling.
