The average tax bill in New Bedford wont see much change after Monday's setting by the City Council of the annual tax rate. Businesses will a slight break for the second year in a row, with the commercial rate being set at $29.55 per thousand dollars of valuation. Retail property owner Doug Mills appreciated the Council's decision, and tells WBSM News, it helps keep New Bedford an attractive place for businesses.

The residential tax rate was set at $14.33 per thousand dollars of valuation, up four cents from last year. The average homeowner will see about a two dollar increase in their annual tax bill, as a result.
