NEW BEDFORD — Beloved New Bedford seafood standby Kyler's Catch will be temporarily closed until Lent — but don't worry, only the kitchen is closing, and it will be back soon.

According to a Jan. 6 post on the Kyler's Catch Seafood Market and Kitchen Facebook page, the kitchen side of the popular spot will be temporarily closed from this week until the end of February.

"We have made a very difficult decision to temporarily close our Kitchen after this weekend," the post reads.

"Providing you the greatest overall experience is most important to us, and we need some time for regrouping to best do so."

No further details were given on why the temporary closure or regrouping is necessary.

Kyler's managers could not be immediately reached for comment.

The post ended noting that the kitchen will reopen for Fish Fridays during Lent, which starts Feb. 22.

The retail seafood market will be operating as normal, according to the post.

Kyler's Catch is located at 2 Washburn St. in New Bedford.
