New Bedford Redemption Center Argument Leads to Arrest

NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man is arrested after pulling a BB gun on another person.

Police were called to Jay's Wine and Spirits at 446 Dartmouth Street at 12:59 p.m. Wednesday for a reported disturbance. According to police, two people were in line at the store's redemption center when an argument broke out over who was in line first.

Police say that's when one of them pulled out a BB gun and thrust it into the ribs of the other person.

No injuries were reported, but police located the BB gun and arrested 37-year-old Juan D. Ferra-Santos of New Bedford, charging him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
