The EPA has awarded the City of New Bedford  a $200,000 grant to clean up a long-time Brownfields Site at 478-to-480 Union Street, a former gas station and service garage that shut down in the late 70's.  Mayor Jon Mitchell says the grant will make the city cleaner, and help revitalize the surrounding neighborhood.  Mitchell tells WBSM News, he hopes single family hopes will eventually be constructed there.  The EPA is awarding nearly $7 million in grants to 33 separate Brownfields projects across the state.
