New Bedford Police: Suspect Swindles Sneakers from Sellers
NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating after a group of young people were robbed of a pair of sneakers.
New Bedford Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the area of 38 Willis Street at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Police say a group of young people were selling sneakers to another individual when the potential buyer grabbed the footwear and fled.
According to the New Bedford Police Department's incident log, the suspect was armed with a weapon, though a police spokesperson did not disclose what kind of weapon was used during the incident.
No injuries were reported.
